A Wee Winter Weekend in Scotland

Hello there!

Can you believe that just as we were visited by the #beastfromtheeast and Storm Emma we had a trip to Scotland booked? Whilst the pictures on Social Media were of a beautiful winter it was a bit of a gamble to go to a place where folks were snowed in!

But I am so glad we did.

We took a flight from Bristol to Edinburgh and then caught the bus into the city followed by another bus which took us to the lovely town of Peebles where we stayed. I found a Book Sale – a fantastic treasure trove of literature and came home with lots of good reads. We ate, drank and made merry – walked up and down hills and along rivers. Viewed art in galleries and wandered into museums. We toasted our tootsies in front of the fire and slept in the most enormous beds you have ever seen. We lived like Royalty for four days!

Here are just some pictures we took. Edinburgh was uncharacteristically quiet, free from the usual crowds which was a bonus. We took a long walk before catching the Hop on Hop Off Bus (a bargain at just £15 per person), which gave us a lovely insight into the city and some of it’s history. If you have never been…..Scotland is a place you must go to!
