Following on from my successful cookery classes which I’ve been running for the past year and a half, I am making plans and developing a series of Art classes for the New Year, with a taster session before Christmas.
Art can be relaxing, absorbing and physically engaging. It’s something anyone can enjoy at any age. So many of us though, have been put off by art lessons at school which we found boring or difficult. Or maybe it has just been so many years since we made or found the time to get out our box of pencils or paint and create something beautiful.
Creativity, as Matisse said, takes courage but if you let go and begin you will be amazed at where it can take you!
It is my aim to take people on a journey of discovery into creativity, where they can explore colour and how it links with feelings and emotions. I also want you to receive the maximum benefit from each class, learning skills and techniques that will create a pathway into the wonderful and relaxing world of art.
To launch this new venture I am going to run an Adults Art workshop.
Mindful art and painting for you workshop
Saturday 11th November 1:00 – 4:00 pm (Book early to avoid disappointment!)
This is the perfect way to spend a cold winter’s afternoon! Switch off from the demands of family life and your job and join me to let yourself become absorbed in something creative.
In this workshop you’ll be encouraged to play with a wide range of art materials to uncover fresh and evocative expressions of your experiences. This workshop will explore texture and colour in all its forms. You will be able to discover some inspirational, practical ways to de-stress and release your creative potential
You don’t need any experience is – these workshops are suitable for beginners and for more experienced artists looking for fresh approaches to painting, and they’re open to anyone from 12 to 112!
The emphasis is on mindful art and experimentation. For me, art is a way to explore both my inner world and my relationship with the world outside. These workshops will teach you some traditional skills but the emphasis is on using art as a contemplative and joyful, personal practice. Materials will be provided and you will be able to take home your work.
The workshop will be led by me – I am a qualified teacher with experience of working in schools and further education. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available at the start and there will be a break in the middle. To book a place or find out more information I can be contacted on 07887395879.

£22 each if you bring a friend!
