How do you make money from a blog?

I love the internet. You can find out everything you want from the internet . When  I was younger if you had to find something out you had to:

  1. Ask someone.
  2. Look it up in an encyclopedia – sheesh – surely the most boring of book sets ever!
  3. Experiment.
  4. Watch other people.

Earlier this week when business was slow, I thought to myself. “Ah-ha! The blog could make money for me.” This was after I had checked all my social media outlets for the 20th time to see if any orders had sneaked their way in

So I googled the question and got some answers.

First of all…you need to have a blog.

Well duh! And……well…there were a fair few answers. None of them got me very far; there’s no easy way to do it. Bah! I thought I could be an overnight millionaire! Really, for a mad minute I thought I could just write and take photos and I’d make loads of money.

So…if you are thinking of making money from a blog I will share this little gem with you. You need to have a blog. And also, the blog itself does not actually make you money but is a platform from which you can make money. Oh and before you ask – yes my blog is making a little bit of money 🙂

My blog is my platform. I love food and so I am selling food (by the way my recipes are free so please do look at the Recipe roll). I am selling food, and also I am selling cookery workshops. Please can you share or buy something especially if you are local? Please? And also, please can you tell other people? Thank you. I found this great quote on @WiltsTG Wiltshire tourist guide.

“When you buy from a small family run business you are not helping a CEO buy a third holiday home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team shirt, a mum and dad to put food on the table.” Support local businesses and keep your community thriving.

I always try to buy local and from independent shops… I love our community and the place we live in. I think what makes it great is all the people making the best of the community we live in.

P.S. I don’t have a little girl having dance lessons or a boy needing a team shirt – but you know what I mean I hope?  I bought some chicken and mince for some new orders from  the lovely new butchers today @CW Butchers. 🙂 and also I bought some fairy cupcake wrappers and a set of little fairy flags from Sarah at Gifted in the Shambles
