Sweet Punjabi lassi

This is my version of a lovely fresh cooling buttermilk and yoghurt drink. I’ve adapted it slightly to suit my taste. Before I post the recipe I must add that my favourite lassi is actually salty lassi but there are all kinds of variations. This is a new favourite I must say.

Take

2 cups of buttermilk and whisk it together with 2 dessert spoons of natural yoghurt. I use Greek yoghurt for added creaminess.

Add 3 crushed cardamom pods (remove the husks) and a few drops of rose essence if you have some. Then add a splurge or two of runny honey, depending on your taste. Keep mixing it for a bit. You can add ice cubes if you want an extra cool drink. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with some saffron strands and a pinch of cardamom powder.
